A Bookshelf

A Bookshelf

By: Nicholas Elbers

It holds stories to fill a lifetime,
Forgotten journeys taken in youth;
Of dragons and faeries,
Love and spaceships and wonder:
Things we leave in the past.

Always.

The past shapes the future.

Once held, a belief in faeries forms us.

Recollection brings understanding.
Faeries becomes muses –
Infinitesimal voices calling out inspirations.
Imagination is a great remembering:
Recollected experience mixed with faerie dust.

  1. Lovely.. How many books have we all forgotten on our bookshelves? How many have we not even bothered to read yet? Nice thought
