Hopefull Heart

And as the sinking scarlet sun
Scrolled softly from the sky
The Bartlett pears wept warm with dew
As if their hearts could cry

For light that fades
Turns souls to shades
Of dark and dankish dealings
A new earth day must pave the way
For lighter loving feelings

And in the end when starshine bends
Perhaps you’ll reminisce of me
Let’s hope my light proved I was right
Your tears were dropped to love me
